At WorkWithTheBrainYouHave (this FB Page) and http://www.LetsConnectProject.com (our social venture project), this is what believe βMental Health Recoveryβ means:
Recovery means being able to create and live a meaningful life and contribute to our community, even with (having) our mental health issues.
Recovery is about all of our life, not just our symptoms. It involves:
β’ finding hope, and developing self-esteem and resilience
β’ having a sense of purpose and meaning in our life
β’ building healthy relationships
β’ gaining independence
Recovery is not the same as a cure.
